The band were extremely proud to be able to take part in the official opening of the Bennerley viadauct..
Following an arduous climb the band assembled at the centre of the viaduct platform and treated the crowd to a rousing rendition of “See the Conquering Hero Comes” (allegedly a firm favourite when the opening of railway infrastructure was a common occurrence).
After brief speeches by the Lord-Lieutenants of both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, the band performed a well received concert at base camp, after first leading the masses off the viaduct at break neck speed to the sounds of “True and Trusty”
